Kiwanis clean up day
The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International’s Global Campaign for Children, will save or protect millions of mothers and their future babies. In partnership with UNICEF, Kiwanis is eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT), a disease that kills one baby every nine minutes and a significant number of women each year, by immunizing women of child-bearing age.
When Kiwanis International joined this effort in 2010, UNICEF and its partners had already eliminated MNT in more than 20 countries. Kiwanis pledged to raise US$110 million to help fund elimination of the disease in the more than 30 countries that remained at risk. As of March 2014, we continue our fight in the remaining 25 countries.
The Kiwanis Club of Sandusky has committed to become a Model Kiwanis Club. This distinguished honor will be met by donating $750 per club member to The Eliminate Project by the conclusion of 2015. These funds will be met through fundraising, donations, and current financial investments.
